Les "starter packs" : la sociologie version LOL

Tu les as forcément croisés en scrollant ton fil Instagram ou Twitter (X, si t'es à jour) : ces petits montages d’images qui résument une personne, une vibe ou un style de vie en quatre ou six cases. Bienvenue dans le monde fabuleusement absurde des starter packs.

Un starter pack, c’est un peu comme si Internet te tendait un miroir... mais version caricature. Tu sais, ce pote qui porte tout le temps des Stan Smith, boit son café en terrasse en disant "c’est trop mainstream" et poste des stories de vinyles ? Bam : "Hipster parisien starter pack". Et là, tu ris (ou tu pleures un peu si tu t’y reconnais trop).

On y trouve de tout :

La "maman bio du 11e" avec son kombucha, sa poussette design et ses chaussures éco-responsables, ou l"étudiant en philo" : pull trop grand, clope roulée, Jean-Paul Sartre sous le bras, et une incompréhension chronique du capitalisme (sauf quand il s’agit de commander Deliveroo).

C’est drôle, un peu moqueur, souvent très juste. Le starter pack, c’est le mème qui dit tout sans dire un mot. Un mix parfait entre un jeu de devinettes et un petit roast bien senti.

Mais au fond, on les aime parce qu’ils montrent qu’on fait tous partie d’un cliché. Et que parfois, c’est pas si grave d’en rire. Alors, voilà le mien ?

A starter pack is a bit like the Internet holding up a mirror to you... but as a caricature. You know that mate who wears Stan Smiths all the time, drinks his coffee on the terrace saying ‘it's too mainstream’ and posts stories about vinyl records? Bam: ‘Parisian hipster starter pack’. And then you laugh (or cry a little if you identify too much).

The ‘organic mum from the 11th arrondissement’ with her kombucha, designer pushchair and eco-responsible shoes, or the ‘philosophy student’: oversized jumper, rolled-up fag, Jean-Paul Sartre under your arm, and a chronic lack of understanding of capitalism (except when it comes to ordering Deliveroo).

It's funny, a little mocking, often very accurate. The starter pack is the meme that says it all without saying a word. It's the perfect mix between a guessing game and a heartfelt roast.

But deep down, we love them because they show that we're all part of a cliché. And that sometimes it's not so bad to laugh about it. So here's mine?
