Cuba 2025

Writer: Grégory HerpeGrégory Herpe

Yesterday morning I was received at the Cuban Embassy in Paris by Ms Leyanis Perojo Martiatu, from the Embassy's Press and Culture Department.

Thank you for your excellent welcome.

She was very attentive and motivated me to collaborate on an artistic and social project in Cuba over the next few months, which I'll tell you about when the time comes.

I've been wanting to photograph Cuba for a long time, a country that is rich in colour, but is best known for its cigars, old American cars, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, the revolution, the embargo and so on.

But this state, and above all its people, offers a multitude of fascinating little stories within the big picture, and it's this positive side that interests me.
