Last night, the Cannes Film Festival concluded with the highly anticipated award ceremony.
Swedish director Ruben Östlund, who had previously won the Palme d'Or twice and served as this year's jury president, presented the most prestigious award in global cinema to French director Justine Triet for her film "Anatomy of a Fall."
I had somewhat forgotten about it, but in 2010, I had photographed the supporting actress in this film, Jehnny Beth.
At that time, she was still the singer of the indie rock duo John & Jehn (with Johnny Hostile), and she was really cool!
Later on, she became the lead singer of the English band Savages and collaborated with artists such as Rone, Gorillaz, and Primal Scream.
She also contributed to the soundtrack of Season 5 of the series Peaky Blinders with the song "I'm the Man."
In the 2019 César Awards ceremony, she even received a nomination for Best Female Newcomer for the film "An Impossible Love."
Additionally, she hosts a sporadic music program on Arte called "Echoes."
Congratulations to her!
