Aswan, Egypt.

Two street boys paddle their makeshift board across the Nile, approaching tourist boats in the hope of collecting a few coins. Behind them stands the legendary Old Cataract Hotel, where wealthy travellers enjoy a world of luxury and timeless elegance.

Once frequented by figures such as Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, Lady Diana, François Mitterrand, the Queen of Jordan, Rita Hayworth, Margaret Thatcher, Omar Sharif, Jean-Paul Belmondo, André Malraux, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Tsar Nicholas II, Lord Mountbatten, and many others. this historic palace embodies a very different reality from the one these children face every day.

On the same river, between privilege and poverty, two worlds exist side by side, separated by little more than the water itself.
