Serengeti National Park, TanzaniaThe African leopard lives in sub-Saharan Africa, where it adapts to all types of environment: savannah, desert, forest and swamp.
Its fawn coat spotted with black makes it one of the most handsome wild creatures on the planet.
From the age of three or five months, the young learn to hunt, but on average they stay with their mother until they are two years old. It is considered an endangered species.
It is threatened by poachers looking for its fur, but also by deforestation: the expansion of cultivated land is reducing its hunting territory and exposing it to a lack of food.
