Sanaga River, Cameroon
The drill monkey is a cousin of the mandrill, a species found in Cameroon, Nigeria and on the island of Bioko in Equatorial Guinea. It is one of Africa's most endangered primates. The drill is one of the largest monkeys living in the forests of Central Africa.Threatened by deforestation and poaching, only a few thousand specimens remain, making it one of the most endangered species of monkey.
The striking thing about the drill is the stature of the males.
Weighing almost 25 kg and measuring around 70 cm.
Its gaze is intense.
