Dzanga-Sangha reserve, Central African Republic.
Dzanga-Sangha is one of the last wildlife sanctuaries for animals such as the forest elephant and the western lowland gorilla.
In 2016, the gorillas moved from the "at risk" category to the dramatic ”endangered" category. The apes' habitats are disappearing under pressure from agricultural activities (which affect 76% of the species), logging (60%), livestock farming, road and rail construction, oil and gas drilling and mining.Hunting and poaching also directly affect 60% of species.
