At the back of an artist's and mechanic's workshop in the Catalan capital, a magnificent anonymous religious fresco covers an entire wall, depicting the Virgin Mary, protector of the place and its inhabitants.
She seems to carry all the pain of the world. Beneath the rooftops and the sky, she shines in her gentleness. There is no signature; the artist wanted to remain anonymous.
I discovered her by chance, walking the streets of Catalonia in search of street art frescoes. The door was open, and a young Brazilian man living there agreed to show me around.
I photographed streets all over Europe containing urban frescoes by the best contemporary artists.
