Kahuzi-Biega National Park, Democratic Republic of CongoEastern gorilla, is a critically endangered species and the largest living primate.
They have a mostly black coat, which can be longer and thicker in mountain gorillas due to their cooler habitat. Both subspecies are critically endangered, primarily due to habitat loss, poaching, and human conflict.
Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect these majestic primates.
Photo published in the Musée de St-Cyprien exhibition catalogue following the exhibition ‘L'Odyssée de Grégory Herpe’, a retrospective of my work, from March to June 2017.
