Yabelo, EthiopiaI have often photographed wild animals in Africa, both furry and feathered.
This beady-eyed vulture was my 1st model bird.Currently, the leading causes of death for griffon vultures are collisions with power lines and electrocution.
The Griffon Vulture is a gliding bird and can travel hundreds of kilometres in search of food. Between November and January, pairs of Griffon Vultures form within the colony. The birds fly in tandem, the male hovering above the female as close and as long as possible.
Once the pair is formed, they build a nest. Each year, they lay a single egg.
