Bokor, Cambodia
A police car stands in front of buildings abandoned for years in Bokor, a hilltop resort frozen in time.
I was drawn to the eerie atmosphere, the decaying architecture and its cascading terraces, with not a soul in sight.
Located in southern Cambodia, Bokor National Park is home to remarkable biodiversity, including Asian elephants, Indochinese tigers, Bengal slow lorises, turtles, monitor lizards and snakes, some of them highly venomous.
Yet beneath this wild beauty lies a darker legacy: the area is still contaminated with anti-personnel mines left behind by the Khmer Rouge, making caution essential.
