Paris, France.
In this work, I capture the poignant irony of modernity confronting the transience of human life. The contrast is striking between the bright, artificial, modern light and the centuries-old skulls in the Paris Catacombs.

At the end of the 18th century, major sanitation issues related to the city's cemeteries led to the decision to transfer their contents underground.

The site was consecrated as the "Municipal Ossuary of Paris" on April 7, 1786, and from that moment, it adopted the mythical term "Catacombs," in reference to the Roman catacombs, which had fascinated the public since their discovery.

This image, in a sharp black-and-white style, invites reflection on the passage of time and the light—both literal and metaphorical—that we choose to bring into our existence.
