Kom Ombo, Egypt.
Crouching beneath the immense columns, a guardian dressed in traditional Bedouin attire seems to make himself smaller still, as though instinctively acknowledging the greatness of the place he protects. Around him, hieroglyphs whisper the stories of gods and kings, carved into stone that has endured for thousands of years.
There is humility in his posture, but also quiet vigilance.
He is merely a man, passing through time, yet entrusted with the memory of a civilization. Some histories are too precious to be left unguarded.
