Cairo, Egypt.
Along the edge of Cairo’s busy ring road, a mother walks dangerously close to speeding traffic with her young children. Whenever congestion brings cars to a standstill, she approaches the drivers, begging for a few coins to feed her family.
Surrounded by roaring engines and exhaust fumes, she exposes herself and her children to constant danger. No mother should have to place her children’s lives at risk to put food on the table.
Yet, when poverty leaves no other options, survival becomes a daily gamble.
