Where do illuminations come from these days?
The sky or the street furniture? When I looked up at the sky, I had the impression that these lights were the eyes of God.
This majestic cathedral marked my childhood, when I first saw it.
I returned to Cologne in 2014, just to photograph it at last.
This cathedral is a Gothic Catholic church, 157 metres high and with 533 steps, and it is the second highest church in Germany and the world for its towers, after the Main Church in Ulm. It is also the third largest Gothic cathedral (after Seville Cathedral and the Duomo in Milan). It is the most visited monument in Germany.
Photo published in the Musée de St-Cyprien exhibition catalogue following the exhibition ‘L'Odyssée de Grégory Herpe’, a retrospective of his work, from March to June 2017.
