Nagorno-Karabakh - after the War
After the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh is a ruined region, the villages are destroyed, the land is burned, and it will take years to clear the anti-personnel mines.
More than 100,000 Armenians are thought to have fled the separatist republic, self-proclaimed in 1991, since the second war between the two countries, causing an exodus with terrible humanitarian repercussions for the Armenians.
Azerbaijan, for its part, is sticking to its positions and imposing its borders. The law of the strongest.
And Russia, whose soldiers are in charge of a peacekeeping force on the territory (discreetly, in particular in the Lachin corridor), has no real desire to get bogged down in this conflict.
It is time for reconstruction, and if possible for peace and reconciliation....Even if forgiveness is unlikely.
